Starbucks Work Experience Program

Partnership brewing with Starbucks!

In 2013, Starbucks Canada agrees to provide barista training for clients (16-24) in our Youth Culinary Arts Program (YCAP) which began in 2012. This applies only to graduates of YCAP, which teaches young people at risk of being homeless, life and job skills, food safety, customer service and cooking skills. Upon completion, and following Starbucks’ 6-week apprenticeship program, youth may potentially be hired by the coffee chain. This is a fine example of community working together to help improve the lives of struggling youth.

We are also thankful to Starbucks for agreeing to donate the coffee to our Stampede breakfasts – no mean feat since we serve more than 2,500!
