2014 and Beyond

In the future, there will still be fear, anger, sadness and loss. We can’t change that, but we can change how we approach it. Right now, we’re working to find ways to intervene earlier, support families sooner and prevent trauma before it starts. It’s our investment in the lives of our country’s children and our commitment to Canadians for the next 100 years.

As long as we are here, we will never give up, never say no and never turn anyone away.

Determining & Measuring Success

Every year, our Research Department measures all client and program outcomes for the organization. These measurements are compared with other years and our evidence of successes is widely shared with the greater community.

We volunteer at Wood’s Homes because our people tell us they want to be meaningfully engaged in our community partnerships. There’s a sense of pride that comes with knowing that in addition to our financial investment, we can help make a difference by contributing our time and energy." Our Volunteers

It’s a busy life we all lead – each of us carefully measuring the minutes and hours of every day. Time is precious! At Wood’s Homes, we know the value of time – there never seems to be enough of it. And we need help — always — in the work we do with so many troubled families. So every bit of help counts! We can’t thank the 100 or so volunteers who spend their valuable time assisting us. From mentoring youth, to filing papers, from laying sod to helping with events, from teaching money basics to our youth, to offering advice and guidance, we toast each and every one of you!

Our Core Values

2013/2014 Annual Report

Since 1914, Wood’s Homes has grown from a seed of benevolence, into a tall and mature grove of compassion, commitment and caring for the vulnerable. Wood’s Homes is a leading children’s mental health centre that celebrates 100 years in 2014 . . . and we are still growing.

While the scope and scale of our programs has changed significantly since our start, the eagerness to help the vulnerable and the respect and the leadership that we were founded on remains as strong as ever. 100 years is a huge milestone, but we’re already looking forward to branching out, growing stronger and finding new ways to help children and their families in the next century!
